My First Birchbox has arrived!

IMG_0036My first Birchbox has finally arrived and it isn’t in the shape of a box!, although I subscribed in January I have been sent the December Limited edition which includes The Luxe Birchbag instead. The Luxe Birchbag is a glitzy clutch which would have been great for those xmas nights out, it will also make a uber cool make up bag with all the faux suede and gold glitter.

The ultimate party kit – Benefit

RRP £41

These are two great little samples and I already own both in the full size versions. A friend gave  me a sample of the benefit puff off about 4 months ago and I have never looked back.   I suffer from puffy eyes so  I am always on the look out for new products that may help with this, I tried the sample and really liked it so I decided to bite the bullet and BUY. I have found that since using Puff Off! my eyes have been notiIMG_0045ceably less puffy, I started to notice this a few days after using. The full size version comes with a iron shaped applicator which creates a nice cooling sensation while applying and is designed to iron out those fine lines, the birchbox sample does not have this feature. I use this product in the mornings and evenings I cannot get enough of it.

They’re real push-up liner, again a friend recommended this
product to me however I do not always get on with it, I find the gel liner can actually be quite dry and the angled application tip sometimes difficult to use (there must be a knack to it that I have not yet mastered). However when I do have the time to apply the liner correctly it looks great and really does last all evening, because of the above I tend to use this liner when I’m going out rather than for my quick before work make-up.

The breakout warrior – Balance Me

RRP – £16

This is a congested skin serum designed to soothe and smooth spots and blocked pores and bring the skin back into balance. WOW this product really works! I was actually very skeptical about trying this product and thought it was probably another product that claims to help rid those spots but doesn’t, I was very wrong! I tried this out on the best week as I genuinely have clear skin, however I had the dreaded lurgy and what happens when we are run down we break out in spots and I had quite a few around my chin, neck area and a few small onIMG_0039es appearing on my forehead. I decided to apply this all over my face and neck before bed and when I woke the next day the redness had halved although my skin did feel quite tight. After the second night of applying the spots had dried and almost disappeared, this product will be great when you have those breakouts before important events and nights out. The breakout warrior also smells great, I thought it smelled of lemongrass and ginger but it is actually a blend of chamomile, aloe vera and lavender to calm and restore the skin without drying it out.

The Sunny Shower – Skin & Co

RRP – £15

I love receiving bath and shower products and love all the different fragrances available, this Sicilian body gel was moisturising on the skin, it’s supposed to smell of orange and olive which I would usually love however I thought it smelled quite musky and more towards a masculine fragrance.

Roloxin Lift – The Skincare S.O.S

RRP – £79

Lift Instant skin smoothing Masque

For £79 you really do want this mask to work and I have to admit I was not disappointed. This wrinkle smoothing mask diminishes pores, firms skin and boosts radiance. To use you massage the packet for 20 seconds to activate and then apply to damp skin. Once applied you leave on for up to 10 minutes while the IMG_0040mask drys, as the
mask drys you can feel it tightening and tingling on your skin, you then rinse with warm water.
After I could visibly see that my skin looked firmer and my pores smaller. The only negative with this face mask is that I will certainly have to save my pennies but lets be honest my skin looks and feels great so I probably will.

 The Perfect Pout – modelCo

RRP – £15.50 for set of 3

Ultra Long-Lasting Lipstick in Smitten

I received my Sample Lipstick in Smitten it looks like a deep red but when applied I found it much brighter. This lipstick was smooth to apply and comes in a semi-matte formula which provides nourishment and long-lasting colour. The great thing about this set is it consists omodelco-pack-1f  3 different colours almost taking your lip colour from casual day to glamorous night and all for just £15.50.

The Mani Must-have -Ciaté London

RRP -£9

Paint pot in assorted shades

IMG_2595.JPGI received my sample nail polish in Pucker Up which is a textured metallic orchard shade with a gold and violet shimmer. I was actually very surprised with this sample as I thought like most sparkly nail polishes it would be quite thin with a few sparkles, so I was delighted to find that this polish covers your nail in full and just with one coat!

The picture I took once applied shows this polish in its full glory.

New York, New York

I Recently visited New York and the shopping experience was amazing! The saying ‘shop till you drop’ was taken to a new level! It really is the city that never sleeps. I am now officially in love with Sephora it really is the make up and beauty store from heaven, I spent hours in here and the great thing about New York  is there is pretty much a Sephora on every block, of course I had to go in all of them just in case there was something different in each store that I might have missed! I really wish we had one in the UK.

I also visited the stores that cannot be missed such as Macy’s, Bloomingdales and century 21.

Over the next few weeks I will be reviewing some of the products  I purchased in New York including brands such as Becca, Kat Von D, Urban Decay, Kiehl’s and Sephoras own brand. It will be interesting to see if anyone else has tried the products I will be reviewing and what they think?

If you want to find out more about my new favourite store then check out the link below, they also now ship to the UK, shipping costs £6 on orders over £75

Remember when shopping at Macy’s you can get an additional 10% off for being an international shopper! terms and conditions apply, voucher is valid for 30 days, all you have to do is visit the Macy’s visitor centre.

Bloomingdales also offer a similar incentive!
